About the Role

Our client, a highly regarded secondary school located in the vibrant borough of Hackney, East London, is seeking a dynamic and accomplished Music Teacher to join their dedicated team from September 2024.

This full-time, permanent position offers a rewarding opportunity to contribute to a thriving music department with a strong track record of academic excellence and creative expression. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering a stimulating and comprehensive curriculum to Key Stage 3 and 4 students, fostering a love of music and nurturing their talents.

Responsibilities

  • Design and deliver engaging music lessons for Key Stage 3 and 4 students
  • Plan and implement creative schemes of work that align with the national curriculum
  • Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback
  • Collaborate with colleagues to enhance the music department's overall effectiveness
  • Participate in extracurricular music activities, such as concerts and performances
  • Stay abreast of developments in music education and incorporate innovative teaching methods

Qualifications and Experience

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification
  • A degree in music or a related discipline
  • Proven experience teaching music to Key Stage 3 and 4 students
