Position: EAL (English as an Additional Language) Teacher

Position Overview:
The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in supporting our students whose first language is not English, helping them to integrate effectively into mainstream education and achieve their full potential.

Key Responsibilities:

• Plan and deliver effective EAL lessons tailored to the needs of individual students.
• Assess students' language proficiency and monitor their progress over time.
• Collaborate with subject teachers to support EAL learners in accessing the curriculum.
• Provide guidance and support to mainstream teachers on best practices for teaching EAL students.
• Maintain accurate records of student development and participate in parent-teacher meetings as required.

Requirements:

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification.
• Proven experience working with EAL students in a secondary school setting.
• Strong understanding of different EAL teaching strategies and assessment methods.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues.
• Commitment to promoting equality and diversity within the school community.

Desirable Skills:

• Additional language proficiency relevant to the student demographics of the school.
• Experience using educational technology and resources to enhance EAL learning.
• Awareness of the latest developments in EAL pedagogy and educational policies.
