Our esteemed client, a thriving secondary school in the vibrant borough of Waltham Forest, is seeking a dedicated and experienced Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCo) to join their supportive and collaborative team. This full-time, permanent position commences in September 2024 and offers a unique opportunity to make a lasting impact on the lives of young people with special educational needs.
The Role:
As SENCo, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring that all students with special educational needs receive the support and guidance they require to reach their full potential. Your responsibilities will include:
- Leading and managing the school's SEN provision
- Developing and implementing Individual Education Plans (IEPs)
- Liaising with parents, teachers, and external agencies
- Monitoring student progress and evaluating the effectiveness of interventions
- Ensuring compliance with statutory requirements
The Ideal Candidate:
The successful candidate will possess the following qualifications and experience:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- National Award for SEN Coordination (NASENCo) or equivalent
- Proven experience in a similar role within a secondary school setting
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong organisational and leadership abilities
