About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Design & Technology (D&T) teacher to join our dynamic department. This is an excellent opportunity for a talented individual to play a key role in shaping the future of D&T education within our supportive and ambitious school community.

Key Responsibilities:

• Plan, deliver, and assess a broad and engaging D&T curriculum for students across KS3, KS4, and potentially KS5.
• Cultivate a stimulating learning environment that fosters creativity, problem-solving skills, and a passion for design.
• Utilize the well-equipped workshop environment effectively to ensure a safe and practical learning experience for students.
• Contribute to the development of the D&T curriculum, ensuring it aligns with national standards and best practice.
• Actively participate in the pastoral care and wellbeing of students.
• Collaborate effectively with colleagues within the department and contribute to the wider school community.

The Ideal Candidate

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with a specialism in Design & Technology (D&T).
• A minimum of 3 years' successful teaching experience in a secondary school setting.
• Excellent subject knowledge and a demonstrable passion for inspiring students.
• Strong classroom management skills and the ability to create a positive and inclusive learning environment.
• A commitment to fostering a love of design and innovation in students.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• A collaborative and team-oriented approach.
• A steadfast commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
