About the Role:

• Lead and manage a thriving Music department, fostering a love of music amongst students of all abilities (KS3 – KS5).
• Develop and implement a comprehensive, engaging, and challenging Music curriculum aligned with the National Curriculum.
• Oversee classroom instruction, ensuring effective delivery of Music lessons across all key stages.
• Provide ongoing professional development and support to Music teachers within the department.
• Lead and manage a variety of extracurricular musical activities, including school ensembles, choirs, and musical productions.
• Contribute to the school's wider cultural enrichment program.
• Foster strong relationships with students, parents, and colleagues, creating a positive and inclusive learning environment.

Essential Skills and Experience:

• Qualified Music Teacher (PGCE or equivalent) with demonstrably successful experience.
• A proven track record of leading and managing a Music department within a secondary school setting.
• Excellent pedagogical skills with the ability to create innovative and engaging Music lessons.
• A strong understanding of the National Curriculum for Music and the ability to translate it into effective classroom practice.
• Experience in leading and managing extracurricular musical activities.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
• A passion for Music education and a commitment to inspiring a lifelong love of music in students.
