About the Role:
- Providing strategic leadership and direction for the Geography department, ensuring its curriculum aligns with the school's vision and the National Curriculum.
- Leading the development and implementation of a stimulating and engaging Geography curriculum across Key Stage 3 (Years 7-8) and Key Stage 4 (Years 9-11).
- Inspiring and motivating a team of Geography teachers, promoting a culture of continuous improvement and professional development.
- Monitoring and evaluating the effectiveness of the Geography curriculum and student progress, making data-driven decisions to ensure high standards.
- Contributing to the wider school curriculum, fostering collaboration with other departments where relevant.
- Building strong relationships with students, parents/carers, and the wider school community.
- Representing the Geography department in school leadership meetings and committees.
The Ideal Candidate:
- A qualified Geography teacher with a proven track record of success in leadership and departmental management.
- Excellent subject knowledge and a passion for Geography, with a strong understanding of current curriculum trends and developments.
- Outstanding leadership skills, with the ability to motivate, inspire, and empower a team of teachers.
- Proven experience in curriculum development and assessment strategies for Geography.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and collaboration skills.
