We are pleased to present an exciting opportunity on behalf of a highly-regarded secondary school in Croydon. They are seeking a skilled and enthusiastic Design & Technology Technician to join their team starting in September. This full-time position offers the chance to work within a dynamic educational environment and contribute to the success of the school's Design & Technology department.

Role Overview:

The successful candidate will provide essential technical support to the Design & Technology teaching staff. This encompasses a range of responsibilities, including:

• Workshop Preparation and Maintenance: Ensuring that the workshop is well-organized, safe, and equipped with the necessary tools, materials, and equipment for effective teaching and learning.
• Resource Development: Assisting teachers in creating and maintaining resources, materials, and project kits for practical activities.
• Technical Support: Providing technical guidance and assistance to students during practical lessons and projects, ensuring safe and effective use of equipment.
• Equipment Maintenance: Conducting regular checks and maintenance of tools, machinery, and equipment to ensure optimal functionality.
• Administrative Tasks: Supporting the department with administrative duties such as inventory management, ordering supplies, and maintaining records.

Qualifications and Experience:

• A relevant qualification in Design & Technology or a related field.
• Practical experience working in a workshop environment, ideally within an educational setting.
• Proficiency in using a variety of tools, machinery, and equipment relevant to Design & Technology.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
