On behalf of our esteemed client, a high-performing secondary school in Southampton, I am pleased to announce an opening for an English Teacher to join their faculty starting in September.
Position Summary
This is a full-time position within a dynamic and supportive English department. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to teach across Key Stages 3, 4, and 5, inspiring a love of literature and language in students of diverse abilities and backgrounds.
Responsibilities
- Design and deliver engaging, differentiated English lessons aligned with the national curriculum.
- Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment that encourages student participation and critical thinking.
- Assess student progress through formative and summative assessments, providing timely and constructive feedback.
- Contribute to the development and evaluation of departmental schemes of work and resources.
- Collaborate effectively with colleagues to enhance the overall quality of teaching and learning within the English department.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in English or a related field.
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification.
- Proven experience teaching English at the secondary level, ideally across KS3-5.
- A strong understanding of current pedagogical approaches and assessment practices.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, colleagues, and parents.
