About the Role:
This is an exciting opportunity to inspire the next generation of designers and makers within a supportive and inclusive environment. You will be responsible for delivering engaging and stimulating Design and Technology lessons across the curriculum, catering to all year groups (Years 7-11).
Key Responsibilities:

Curriculum Delivery:
- Plan, deliver, and evaluate engaging and stimulating Design and Technology lessons, fostering a love of design, creativity, and practical skills in students.
- Utilize a variety of teaching methods to cater to diverse learning styles and ensure all students reach their full potential.
- Integrate project-based learning and opportunities for students to develop their design thinking, problem-solving, and practical skills.
- Effectively prepare students for GCSE and potentially A-Level examinations (if applicable).

Safe Learning Environment:
- Maintain a safe and well-organized workshop environment, adhering to all health and safety regulations.

Student Progress:
- Track and monitor student progress, providing constructive feedback and guidance to ensure students achieve their academic goals.
- Utilize a variety of assessment strategies to inform teaching and learning.

Enrichment Activities:
- Contribute to and potentially lead enrichment activities related to Design and Technology (e.g., design clubs, industry visits, participation in design challenges).
- Foster a love of learning and encourage students to explore their design interests beyond the curriculum.
The Ideal Candidate:
- A qualified Design and Technology Teacher with a minimum of 2 years' successful teaching experience.
- A strong passion for Design and Technology and a demonstrable track record of raising student achievement.
- Excellent subject knowledge and the ability to keep up-to-date with current design trends and technologies.
- Strong pedagogical skills and the ability to deliver engaging and practical lessons.
- A commitment to high standards and creating a safe, positive, and inclusive learning environment.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and collaboration skills.
- A willingness to support the Catholic ethos of the school (not mandatory but desirable).
