About the Role
This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled and motivated individual to play a vital role in supporting the delivery of a high-quality Design Technology curriculum. You will work closely with DT teachers to ensure a safe and productive learning environment for students.
Key Responsibilities:

Preparation and Support:
- Prepare resources and materials for practical lessons, ensuring they are well-maintained and readily available.
- Assist teachers in setting up and clearing classrooms for practical activities.
- Liaise with suppliers to source materials and equipment.

Technical Expertise:
- Provide technical support to teachers and students in the use of machinery and equipment.
- Maintain and calibrate machinery and equipment to ensure their safe and effective operation.
- Assist with the development and maintenance of the DT department's resources.

Health & Safety:
- Implement and maintain high standards of health and safety within the DT workshops.
- Conduct safety inductions for students and ensure they adhere to all safety procedures.
- Report any safety hazards or concerns to the relevant personnel.

Other Responsibilities:
- May contribute to the development and improvement of the DT curriculum (as appropriate).
- Play a role in promoting the DT department and its activities within the school.
The Ideal Candidate
- Qualified DT Technician or relevant technical qualification and experience.
- Strong practical skills and experience in working with a variety of materials and equipment (e.g., wood, metal, electronics).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build positive relationships with staff and students.
- A commitment to health and safety and the ability to create a safe learning environment.
- A flexible and adaptable approach to work, able to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
- A passion for Design Technology and a desire to support student learning.
