A high-performing secondary school in Hounslow seeks a qualified and motivated Science Technician to join their dedicated laboratory team. This is an excellent opportunity for a reliable and organized individual to play a vital role in supporting the delivery of a stimulating and successful science curriculum.

Key Responsibilities:

• Preparation and Maintenance:
  • Prepare laboratory equipment and materials for a variety of science lessons across all Key Stages (Years 7-11).
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and well-organized laboratory environment according to health and safety regulations.
  • Ensure the proper storage and disposal of chemicals and hazardous materials.
  • Calibrate and maintain laboratory equipment as required.
• Supporting Teaching:
  • Assist teachers in the preparation and set-up of practical lessons.
  • Provide technical support during science lessons and demonstrations.
  • Oversee student use of laboratory equipment and ensure adherence to safety protocols.
• Stock Management:
  • Maintain accurate records of laboratory stock and consumables.
  • Order and manage the replenishment of laboratory supplies.

The Ideal Candidate:

• A minimum of a Level 3 qualification in Science or a relevant technical qualification (e.g., BTEC Applied Science).
• Experience working in a laboratory environment (desirable).
• Excellent organizational skills with a strong attention to detail.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
• A commitment to health and safety regulations.
• A passion for science and a willingness to learn.
