We are seeking a dynamic and forward-thinking Head of MFL to join our thriving school community in Wandsworth for a permanent, full-time position!

In this leadership role, you will:

  • Provide strategic direction and leadership for the Modern Foreign Languages (MFL) department, setting a clear vision for growth and ensuring the curriculum is engaging, stimulating, and aligned with national standards.
  • Motivate and empower a dedicated team of MFL teachers, fostering a collaborative and supportive learning environment.
  • Champion innovative teaching methods and resources, staying abreast of the latest trends in MFL education to keep our curriculum dynamic and effective.
  • Play a key role in developing and implementing engaging language learning programs that ignite a passion for languages in our students.
  • Oversee assessment and data analysis, utilizing results to continuously improve the effectiveness of the MFL program.

We are looking for an exceptional candidate who possesses:

  • A strong academic background in a Modern Foreign Language and a Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
  • Extensive successful teaching experience at the secondary level, with proven leadership qualities in a school setting (preferably as a Head of Department).
  • A demonstrable passion for languages and a commitment to fostering a love of language learning in students.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.
  • A strategic mind with a focus on innovation and continuous improvement.
