The Role:

In this pivotal role, you will play a key part in inspiring young people to develop a passion for food and cooking. Your responsibilities will include:

• Designing and Delivering Engaging Lessons: Develop and deliver inspiring Food Technology lessons that cater to a range of abilities and interests. Utilize a variety of teaching methods, including practical cookery, theory, and food science, to create an engaging and inclusive learning environment.
• Developing Practical Skills: Provide students with the opportunity to develop essential cooking techniques, food preparation, and culinary skills. Encourage creativity and experimentation in the kitchen.
• Promoting Healthy Eating: Instill a lifelong appreciation for healthy eating and nutrition. Teach students about the importance of balanced diets and the relationship between food and overall well-being.
• Encouraging Enterprise and Innovation: Foster an entrepreneurial spirit by encouraging students to develop their own food products and business ideas.
• Preparing Students for Success: Prepare students for relevant Food Technology qualifications and future pathways in the culinary industry.

The Ideal Candidate:

• A qualified Food Technology teacher with a minimum of two years' successful teaching experience in a secondary school setting.
• A passion for food and cooking, with a strong desire to inspire young people.
• Excellent subject knowledge across the Food Technology curriculum.
• Strong pedagogical skills and the ability to create engaging and practical lessons.
• A commitment to fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and collaboration skills.
