The Role
- Curriculum Delivery: Design, plan, and deliver engaging Media Studies lessons tailored to the needs of sixth form students.
- Skill Development: Foster students' understanding of media theory, production techniques, and critical analysis.
- Academic Preparation: Prepare students for success in relevant Media Studies qualifications, such as A-Level and IB Diploma.
- Creative Development: Promote creativity and innovation in media production, empowering students to develop their own original ideas and projects.
- Departmental Contribution: Collaborate with colleagues to create a positive and inclusive learning environment and contribute to the overall success of the Media Studies department.
Key Responsibilities
- Curriculum Development: Contribute to the ongoing development of the Media Studies curriculum to ensure it aligns with the latest advancements in the field.
- Assessment and Evaluation: Design and implement effective assessment strategies to monitor student progress and provide timely feedback.
- Professional Development: Participate in professional development opportunities to stay up-to-date with the latest teaching methods and best practices.
- Mentorship: Mentor and support student development, helping them to reach their full potential.
Essential Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Media Studies, Film, Television, or a related field
- Qualified teacher status (QTS)
- Proven experience teaching Media Studies at sixth form level
- Strong subject knowledge and pedagogical skills
- Excellent classroom management and communication skills
- Ability to inspire and motivate students
- Experience in using media production equipment and software
