An excellent opportunity has arisen for an Autism Support Assistant to join a forward-thinking school in Harrow. In this role, you will provide tailored 1:1 support to children with autism, working closely with a dedicated SEN team to ensure each child receives the care and guidance they need to succeed.

Responsibilities:
- Provide 1:1 support to children with autism, helping them engage with the curriculum and develop social skills.
- Work alongside the SENCO and teaching staff to implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and tailored learning strategies.
- Assist with the social and emotional development of students, ensuring they feel safe and supported within the school environment.
- Adapt classroom activities and materials to meet the specific needs of each student.
- Monitor student progress and provide regular feedback to teachers, SENCO, and parents.
- Support positive behaviour and help students manage sensory and communication challenges.
- Collaborate with external professionals such as speech and language therapists and educational psychologists when needed.
Experience and Qualifications:
- Experience working with children with autism in an educational or care setting.
- Knowledge of autism and associated behaviours, with an understanding of how to support children with sensory and communication needs.
- A calm, patient, and nurturing approach to supporting children with SEN.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills to work effectively with staff, parents, and external specialists.
- Relevant qualifications in SEN support or teaching assistance are desirable.
- A DBS check is required.
