Responsibilities:
- Provide 1:1 and small group support to students with speech and language difficulties, assisting them in developing communication skills.
- Work closely with speech and language therapists, SENCO, and teachers to implement tailored learning plans and interventions.
- Help adapt classroom activities and materials to meet the specific speech and language needs of students.
- Monitor and record student progress, providing regular feedback to teachers, the SENCO, and parents.
- Support students in building confidence in both verbal and non-verbal communication.
- Assist in the delivery of speech therapy exercises and communication strategies under the guidance of specialists.
Experience and Qualifications:
- Experience working with students with speech and language difficulties in a school or educational setting.
- Knowledge of speech and language development and relevant SEN strategies.
- A patient, nurturing approach with strong interpersonal skills to support students' communication needs.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team, collaborating with teachers, therapists, and parents.
- Relevant qualifications in SEN support, speech and language therapy, or teaching assistance are desirable.
- A DBS check is required.
