- Oversee the assessment, development, and review of Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) for students with special educational needs.
- Supervise and support a team of SEN support staff, providing guidance and professional development opportunities to enhance their skills.
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and external agencies to develop and implement effective support strategies tailored to the individual needs of students.
- Monitor and track the progress of students with SEN, using data to inform intervention strategies and improve outcomes.
- Deliver training and workshops for school staff on best practices in supporting students with special educational needs, promoting an inclusive school culture.
- Foster positive relationships with students, ensuring their voices are heard and incorporated into their learning plans.
- Stay informed about current legislation, best practices, and developments in special education, ensuring compliance and alignment with national standards.
Qualifications:
- A recognised SENCO qualification is essential, showcasing your expertise in special educational needs.
- Demonstrated experience in a leadership role within SEN, with a proven ability to drive improvements in student outcomes.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build effective relationships with students, families, and colleagues.
- A commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment for all students.
- A clear DBS check is required to ensure the safety and well-being of all students.
