A progressive SEN school in Barking and Dagenham is seeking an enthusiastic Science SEN Teacher to teach a range of science subjects to students with special educational needs. This is a rewarding opportunity for a science specialist with experience in SEN education.

Position: Science SEN Teacher
Type: Full-time, Permanent
Location: Barking and Dagenham

School Information:
The school caters to students with complex learning difficulties, including social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) issues. The successful candidate will be part of a dynamic team dedicated to providing personalised education and support for SEN learners.

Responsibilities:

  • Teach Science across key stages, delivering lessons tailored to SEN students.
  • Develop engaging and accessible lesson plans that meet the individual needs of each student.
  • Work closely with the SENCo to design and implement IEPs.
  • Monitor and assess the academic and personal progress of students.
  • Use innovative strategies to support student engagement and understanding of Science concepts.

Experience and Qualifications:

  • QTS with a specialism in Science.
  • Experience teaching students with SEN, including SEMH, ASD, and MLD.
  • Strong classroom management and differentiation skills.
  • A clear DBS check.
