Role Highlights
- Full-time, permanent teaching role in a nurturing, student-centered SEN school that prioritizes the unique learning needs and potential of each child
- Create and deliver customized lesson plans that are designed to support the diverse academic, social, and emotional needs of mixed-age KS1 and KS2 learners, ensuring each student’s individual goals and abilities are respected
- Collaborate with experienced SEN professionals and support staff, including teaching assistants and specialists, to deliver consistent and comprehensive support that promotes students’ holistic development
- Develop and maintain a positive, inclusive classroom atmosphere where students feel valued, understood, and encouraged to actively participate, helping them build essential skills and confidence
- Engage in ongoing assessment and monitoring of student progress, using insights from both formal and informal assessments to adapt teaching strategies as needed for optimal growth and learning
- Participate in school-led SEN training and professional development, enhancing your expertise in SEN teaching and keeping up-to-date with best practices and innovative approaches in inclusive education
Experience & Qualifications
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with experience in primary teaching, ideally across Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2; experience in a Special Educational Needs (SEN) setting is advantageous, allowing you to bring an empathetic and understanding approach to individualized learning
- Strong commitment to fostering an inclusive and engaging learning environment, with the flexibility and creativity required to adapt lesson plans and teaching methods to support diverse learning needs
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, enabling effective teamwork with SEN staff, support professionals, and families to create a well-rounded support network for each student
- Patient, compassionate approach that encourages students to feel secure, supported, and motivated to reach their potential in both academic and personal development
- Enhanced DBS check required to ensure the safety and well-being of all students
